Saeed is an educator, entrepreneur and former architect. He earned his PhD in Design and Computation from the MIT School of Architecture. His doctoral research focused on teaching creativity, which eventually led into the creation of NuVu. Outside of work, Saeed enjoys building toys and furniture for his two kids, tending to his indoor hydroponic farm, and experimenting with middle eastern recipes.

Saba is an architect and urban designer turned educator and technology entrepreneur. She received her B.Arch from Cal Poly SLO and her Masters in Urban Design at MIT. Prior to founding NuVu, Saba worked on the design of K-12 and higher ed buildings in the US, Middle East and Asia. Saba is also a mixed-media artist and loves to design and build large-scale interactive art installations that use technology and biofeedback to raise social awareness and strengthen community (check out Pulse & Bloom and Grove!). ‍

With over 20 years of project and program leadership experience in both corporate and educational spaces, Karen serves a dual role as Chief of Staff and Director of Admissions. For many she is the first point of contact, and for the staff and coaches she is the backbone of all we do.‍

An educator who joined NuVu over a decade ago when he identified that this school would have been his dream high school experience, Jon has been pivotal in NuVu’s path to success to becoming a full-time school. Creating a dynamic, collaborative learning environment for students to discover what inspires them most fuels his passion to build strong relationships with staff, students, and families each year.‍

A human-centered strategist, designer, researcher, and passionate educator. Nada has an MS in Architectural Design and Research from the University of Michigan, where her work was recognized and exhibited internationally. She has extensive experience in building strategic partnerships and utilizing the human-centered design process in projects that span scale and types.‍

An educator with a background in Mechanical Engineering and Design, Salma is an artist who is passionate about writing, design and using engineering tools to create art that is both conceptually deep but also complexly designed.

A content creator her entire career, Doreen leverages a strong background in the arts, managing storytellers for newspapers, magazines and digital publications and has a passion for entrepreneurship (and roller skating).

A computer science engineer turned educator, garnished with a passion for Ecosophy. Ayush received their Masters in Education Leadership, Organizations and Entrepreneurship from Harvard Graduate School of Education, where they discovered NuVu as a case study in the “Building Democratic Schools” class under Prof Linda Nathan, and instantly wanted to work here!‍

Heide is a visual storyteller, cartoonist, media artist and scholar. Her interdisciplinary work includes comics journalism about the border, an (in process) graphic novel about WWII and a broad range of cross-platform collaborations. Her scholarly work has explored histories of work and technology and she has taught at the high-school and college level for 25 years.

A graduate of Boston College’s Morrissey College of Arts and Science, with a degree in International Studies, Hispanic Studies, and Studio Art, John is a coach, makerspace technician, photographer, filmmaker, and mixed media artist.

A graduate of Phillips Andover and Brown University, Jeremy taught English literature and ESL for approx. 15 years in three states before becoming a counselor in January 2023. He’s also worked as a music journalist for publications such as Rolling Stone, The Boston Globe, and Las Vegas Weekly.
